What Is a Puppy Birthday Party?

A puppy birthday party at Puppy Retreat is a 90-minute private event in our studio where 10 real puppies hang out with the birthday kid and their friends. Kids hold them, play with them, take photos, and (depending on the package) do a short puppy yoga class together.
Puppy Retreat hosts private kids' birthday parties in Roseville and Sacramento for $550–$650, including 10 kids and 2 adults, with 90 minutes of puppy cuddles or yoga + cuddles.

What Makes a Puppy Birthday Party Different (And Better)

Most birthday venues in the Sacramento area sell you noise, sugar, and an exhausted post-party meltdown. We sell:
  • Instant entertainment
The puppies ARE the activity. No coordinating games. No herding kids.
  • A clean house at the end of the day.
Party is at our studio. No mess to clean up.
  • Photos parents actually want.
Your kid holding a puppy on their birthday — that's a framer.
  • Zero pressure on shy kids.
Puppies are the great equalizer. Quiet kids and loud kids are equally obsessed.
  • Stress-free for parents.
Just bring cake, snacks, and a camera. We handle everything else.

Birthday Party FAQ
  • How much does a kids birthday party with puppies cost in Roseville?
$550 for our 90-minute cuddle package or $650 for puppy yoga + cuddles. Both packages include 10 kids and 2 adults. Each additional guest is $30.
  • What's the best age for a puppy birthday party?
Ages 4–14 are our sweet spot. Younger kids (4–7) do best with the cuddle-only package. Older kids (8–14) love the yoga + cuddles combo.
  • How many kids can I invite?
10 is included in the base price. You can add as many as you want at $30 each. We can comfortably host larger parties — just give us a heads up when you book.
  • Can parents stay during the party?
Two adults are included with each package. Additional adults are $30 each. Most parties have 2–4 adults present.
  • Do you provide a cake or do I bring one?
You bring the cake. We provide the puppies and the space. We do NOT recommend feeding cake to the puppies (sorry kiddos!).
  • How far in advance should I book a kids birthday party?
We recommend 4–6 weeks for Saturday and Sunday party slots. Weekday afternoon parties 1-2 weeks.
  • What if my child is allergic to dogs?
For mild allergies, an antihistamine beforehand usually works well. For severe allergies, please check with your pediatrician first. The studio is professionally cleaned between events.
  • What if a kid is scared of dogs?
Puppies are not scary dogs — they're tiny, wobbly, and clumsy. We've never had a kid who didn't warm up. But we'll always let nervous kids set the pace.
  • Can we have the party at our house instead?
Yes! Our pop-up puppy party package brings the puppies to your home in Roseville, Sacramento, Rocklin, Folsom, Granite Bay, Lincoln, or El Dorado Hills.
  • Are the puppies safe with kids?
100%. All puppies are vaccinated, socialized, and screened for temperament. We supervise the entire event and give kids a quick "how to hold a puppy" tutorial at the start.
  • Can I bring my own dog?
Sorry — for the safety of our puppies, outside dogs aren't allowed.
